by Briffo, 5 days agoWhile not a whole lot in this update, it comes with a new skirmish called Storm on Methedras and a revamp of the Fornost instance! It also introduces Star-lit Crystals, an item that upgrades your LI's DPS/Tactical/Shield Use and rating-based legacies. This update also includes a revamp to western Moria. They also updated the Eriador/Rhovanion maps to the BEAUTIFUL new ones below! Preliminary release notes are

by Briffo, 44 days agoWith the beginning of our sixth year and the approaching Riders of Rohan expansion, we have recently begun to level a new wave of lowbies in our kinship! Are there any classes you would like to experience? Miss the days gone by when you had more to do than the latest end-game content? Here's a chance to try something new and experience Middle-earth all over again along with friends and kinmates!
For the next few months, our end-game Event Nights will come to a halt in order to accommodate additional time to devote to leveling! There will be two types of events taking place: our regular group event and our '+1' event.
The regular event will be for general leveling for our main group(s), and these events will be named on the calendar as the area that we will be working in. Our +1 event will be for those who have missed the regular event or those who are behind and need a boost to get caught up with our regular group. You cannot be too far behind to sign up, even if you are beginning from level 1! If you are able to help any of these nights that would also be greatly appreciated.
The dates and times of our regular event may not be entirely consistent, but based on the general consensus of those attending and will be determined on a night-to-night basis. The +1 events will be scheduled most any night that I am available. I expect that many of these events will not take place due to no sign-ups; they are mostly there for you to know the optional nights to join. I will be there whenever at least one person signs up, but please always sign up at least one day in advance!
Anyone is welcome to join us at any point in the leveling process- just sign up when you can join! If you got any friends or family that enjoys gaming, this might be the perfect chance to ask them about it! Anyone who already plays LOTRO but is from outside our kinship is also more than welcome! Let me know if you have any questions.

Five years ago The Team was founded on these four things: character, honor, respect and relationships. Looking back, maybe these have not always been a perfect reflection of our kinship (looking ahead I don't see them being perfected either!), but it's a cause worthy to strive for, as a kin and as individuals. I joined The Team two years ago and have come a long ways personally as I experienced LOTRO with all of you as well as experiences out in the real world. I'm hoping that as the kin leader I will be challenged more than ever to continue to grow in my new role as a leader as well as a person. Thank you all for the support you have provided me these past years! I hope in the months and years to come I will be able to do the same for you and the future members of our kinship. Here's to another five great years!
by Briffo, 71 days agoThis new update contains a new level 75 region called the Great River, major PvMP changes, including a new PvP-only stat called Audacity (intended to slow down combat by reduced CC duration and inc. damage) and a new currency called Commendations, as well as major revisions to the RK and Warden! There will also be a new epic book, improved Instance Finder, a new 6-man instance called Roots of Fangorn and the ability to summon skirmish soldiers on landscape!

Yes it is still a ways out, but I am not going to be writing a dev diary on these changes and I wanted to get them out there to those of you who play Wardens.
The changes that took place with RoI certainly did have an impact on this class and I have been working to make some adjustments that will allow for the Warden to return to the position of prominence that it once occupied. Not an insignificant task, but not a task that I would avoid.
Here are the changes that you can expect with the next update in no particular order:
HoTs scale with level - You should always own your mistakes and I own this one. I did not make the adjustments to the heal over time magnitude and so wardens were suddenly far, far, far behind the damage curve of monsters. Monsters have been increasing fairly steadily in terms of damage output from level 65 up and the HoTs did not scale accordingly. This will be rectified meaning that the HoTs will be significantly higher.
Will no longer contributes to Tactical Mastery Rating - What the what is Tactical Mastery Rating? I am letting the cat out of the bag a little on this one, but it is necessary, we are unifying tactical offence and outgoing healing ratings into a one-stop shop Tactical Master Rating. Will, for Wardens, is now obsolete. Instead, Tactical Master Rating for Wardens will be derived from Might.
Never Surrender - The skill changes as follows: Never Surrender makes the Warden invincible for up to five minutes. If the Warden drops below 10% morale during this five minute span, they are healed for 50% of their max morale and 50% of their max power. They can now be defeated as normal. This skill has a 15 minute cool down.
Aggression - Tooltip information has been adjusted to be more clear. This takes a flat value, a significant flat value, from nearby fellowship members and transfers that threat to the Warden. Additionally, adjustments have been made to provide a better animation and FX for the skill.
Deflection - The skill is now affected by the trait A Keen Response. The FX and animation have been updated to fit better with the skill. No more up aggro, now it is down and it looks like a more deflection-y type skill.
Double (Masteries) - Updated the animation and FX to make them the same speed as the other Mastery builders.
Shield Tactics - This should now apply effects earlier in the animation. This now correctly adds to Tactical Mitigation. The animation is now friendlier as well.
Improved Javelin Toss - now grabs the damage type of the javelin that you are wielding.
Basic Gambit Builders - There is now an additional effect that applies to the Warden when the basic gambit builder hits a target. This effect increases partial parry, evade and block percentage by 1%. This effect lasts for 10 seconds and can stack up to 5 times.
These are the changes in the proverbial nutshell. Feel free to leave feedback. I will make certain to approve what I can.
